Boucher out, Erskine in

Sunday, December 04, 2005

Stars defenseman John Erskine's conditioning assignment in Iowa lasted three days. Erskine was recalled after Saturday night's Iowa game because Dallas defenseman Philippe Boucher underwent surgery on a broken finger earlier in the day.

Boucher, who is expected to miss up to two weeks, injured the finger in Friday night's shootout win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

If that timetable is kept, Boucher could return in the middle the Stars upcoming six game road trip, but would could miss the games in Toronto, Buffalo and Ottawa.

Erskine did make the most of his stay in Iowa, playing two full games and the last period as Iowa finished a suspended game Saturday night. He had no points, a plus-two rating and six penalty minutes.
