The Stars snapped a three-game losing
streak with a 3-0 win over the Colorado Avalanche Sunday
night in Dallas. Brad Richards had a goal and an assist,
Mike Modano had two assists and Marty Turco had a
19-save shutout for the Stars. "The way we played was
relentless,'' Turco said. "We're going to need more of
the same." The NHL announced Wednesday that Stars
forward Steve Ott has been suspended three games for a
hit on Colorado's Jordan Leopold in Sunday's game. The
Stars trail first place San Jose by one point in the
Pacific Division.
Injuries: D Philippe Boucher
(shoulder) and D Sergei Zubov (groin/foot)
are
out. C/LW Steve Ott (suspension) is out |

Red Wings |
| The Red Wings ran their
winning streak to four games with a 3-1 win over Chicago
Tuesday night. The streak follows a stretch that saw the
Red Wings win just once in eleven games (1-8-2). "We’ve
still got to ratchet it up," Detroit coach Mike Babcock
said. "It’s nice to see we’ve won four in a row, getting
our confidence back, but we still have a long ways to
go." Chris Osgood is expected to start in goal for
Detroit.
Injuries: C Valtteri Filppula (thigh) and RW
Mikael Samuelsson (neck) are probable. Darren McCarty
(ribs) and RW Tomas Holmstrom (groin/abdomen) are
doubtful. G Dominik Hasek (back), D Andreas Lilja (flu)
and F Daniel Cleary (jaw) are out. |
