9 Colorado 9 Ryan Smyth returns after missing five games for the Avs, who have won eight of their last ten games.
10 Carolina 13 Eric Staal with seven goals and 18 assists in his last 15 games and the Hurricanes are 11-3-1 during that stretch.
11 Ottawa 11 Senators follow up solid 3-0 win over Montreal with lackluster 5-1 loss at Carolina.
12 NY Rangers 10 Rangers have a rough weekend in Florida, losing to the hot Panthers and then falling to the Lightning, who have been playing well too.
13 Minnesota 12 Wild end five-game slide and that gets them a share of first in the tight Northwest Division.
14 Vancouver 14 Canucks go 2-2-0 on four-game road trip. Ryan Kesler scored three goals on the trip to hit the 20-goal mark for the season.
15 Boston 16 The Bruins are 1-2-2 since defenseman Zdeno Chara went out of the lineup with an upper body injury.
16 Philadelphia 15 Mike Richards returns to the lineup but it's not enough to jump start the Flyers, who are winless in four.
17 Washington 19 Capitals have put together three wins in a row and are suddenly knocking on the door of the eighth spot in the East.
18 Buffalo 18 Sabres snap four-game winless streak (0-2-2) with routs of Carolina and Toronto to move within one point of a playoff spot.
19 Nashville 17 Predators snap a three-game losing streak with a huge 3-1 win in Detroit, keeping them within two points of a playoff spot.
20 Edmonton 25 Oilers have won nine of their last eleven games and suddenly they are sniffing around that last playoff spot in the West.
21 Florida 23 Panthers have won seven straight games and allowed just nine goals in the process. Suddenly they are right back in the playoff picture.
22 Phoenix 21 After big wins over Anaheim and Vancouver, the Coyotes drop a key game against Edmonton and lose ground in the playoff race.
23 Chicago 20 A 1-4-1 slide has put a huge dent in what ever slim playoff hopes the Blackhawks had. Shoulder surgery ends Martin Havlat's season.
24 Toronto 26 Maple Leafs are 9-4-1 over their last 14 games, but they are still six points out of a playoff spot.
25 Columbus 22 It looks like the Blue Jackets' first trip to the playoffs will have to come in another season.
26 NY Islanders 24 Islanders have been outscored 23-8 during five-game losing streak. Top prospect Kyle Okposo to make his NHL debut Tuesday versus Toronto.
27 St. Louis 27 Blues have won just one of their last 12 games and are 0-5-1 so far on their on nine-game road trip.
28 Tampa Bay 30 Mike Smith with a 2.39 goals against average, .910 save percentage and one shutout for the Lightning, who have won three straight.
29 Atlanta 28 Thrashers are 2-8-4 over their last 14 games, including 2-5-4 since the trade deadline.
30 Los Angeles 29 Rookie netminder Erik Ersberg is 2-3-2 with a 2.00 goals against average and a .939 save percentage since getting his shot in goal.
