About the Stars |
|
The Stars are coming off a 2-1 loss to
Phoenix Wednesday night. It was the Stars' second
straight loss following a stretch where they had won 13
of 15 games. "Our desperation level just hasn't been at
the point where it needed to be the last two games,"
Stars coach Dave Tippett said. "We have to recognize
that, grab a hold of it and get it back." The Stars have
scored just one goal in each of the two losses.
Injuries: D Philippe Boucher
(shoulder) and D Sergei Zubov (groin/foot)
are
out. |

Avalanche |
| The Avalanche pushed
their winning streak to five games with a 1-0 win over
Anaheim in Denver Thursday night. Jose Theodore made 27
saves for the shutout.
"We played well, and Jose was very sharp," Avs coach
Joel Quenneville said. "I think we've got more
confidence knowing he's back in our end." Wojtek
Wolski scored the lone goal, snapping a 15-game goals
scoring drought. Thursday game was Peter Forsberg's
second game with the Avalanche since signing as a free
agent just before the trade deadline. He has no points
in his first two contests.
Injuries: LW Ryan Smyth (concussion/separated shoulder),
C Cody McCormick (shoulder/bruised chest), D Brett Clark
(shoulder) and RW Marek Svatos (torn ACL) are out. |
