As it stands now, the Dallas Stars will have five picks in next weekend's NHL Entry Draft, which will be held in Ottawa.

The Stars' first pick will come in the 2nd round (59th) overall. They dealt their first round pick in the 2007 trade deadline deal that brought recently retired defenseman Mattias Norstrom to Dallas from the Los Angeles Kings.

The Stars also have a 3rd round pick (89th), 5th round pick (149th), 6th round pick (176th) and a 7th round pick (209th overall).

The Stars' traded away their fourth round pick (119th overall) in July 2006 to Tampa Bay for defenseman Darryl Sydor.

The 6th round pick they have is one they acquired from Montreal in the deal that brought Mike Ribeiro to Dallas in September 2006.

The Stars dealt away a sixth round pick (179th) overall to the Los Angeles Kings last December for Russian center Evgeny Federov.
