Rockford downs Iowa 4-2

Rockford at Iowa Stars

The Iowa Stars' winless streak hit three games Friday night as they lost to Rockford 4-2 at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. Iowa is now 1-2-1 in the first four games of its seven-game homestand.

Marius Holtet and Richard Clune scored the goals for Iowa. It was Clune's first AHL goal. Tom Wandell, who was back in Iowa's lineup for the first time since late November, had an assist in the game. Wandell had been out with a rib injury and had been down in the ECHL the past week.

Steve Silverthorn got the start in goal and made 20 saves on 24 shots. Iowa fell to 19-21-2-2 on the season and remains in eighth place in the eight-team West Division.
