The Iowa Stars won their first two games last week and
actually moved up in the AHL standings, but a loss on Saturday night put
them back in familiar territory.
After beating Lake Erie 7-3 and winning 4-1 at Quad City, the
Stars moved up a spot to seventh in the West Division. But a home loss to Quad
City the following night pushed the Stars back down to last place in the
division and left them still seven points out of a playoff spot.
Iowa, which is 31-31-4-2 on the season, has 12 games
remaining, but the teams they are chasing in the standings all have games in
hand. The team that current holds that last playoff spot, Houston, has four
games in hand.
Iowa plays in Milwaukee and Peoria over the next week. |
