Prospects update

Wednesday, November 21, 2007

Here's an update on Dallas Stars prospects playing junior hockey in Canada and the U.S., and those playing in college and Europe.

Bachman continues to roll

Goalie Richard Bachman continues his impressive run at Colorado College. He improved to 7-1-0 over the past week, stopping 56 of 60 shots in 4-3 and 6-1 wins over Wisconsin. Bachman, a fourth round pick (120th overall) in 2006, has a 1.62 goals against average and a .947 save percentage so far this season as a freshman for the Tigers.

Not only is Bachman stopping pucks, but he is helping the offense too. He has assisted on two of Colorado College's goals this season.

"I can’t explain it," Tigers coach Scott Owens told the Colorado Springs Gazette. “The thing that surprises is that nothing seems to rattle him. He’s calm with the puck and he’s calm in net.

"He’s just smooth. From a technique standpoint, we had a pretty good handle on what he could do — the two assists surprises me. I think he’s mature and composed beyond his years and he’s fitting in really nicely."

This weekend is a big one Bachman and Colorado College, which is ranked 4th nationally, as they take on No. 3 Denver in a home-and-home series.

Snow out in Niagara

Forward Aaron Snow is no longer on the roster of the Niagara Ice Dogs of the Ontario Hockey League. There is no word on why he was removed from the roster.

Snow, a third round pick (90th overall) in 2006, was traded to the Ice Dogs from Windsor in October. Niagara was Snow's fourth OHL team in the last two seasons.
