Prospects update

Here's an update on Dallas Stars prospects playing junior hockey in Canada and the U.S., and those playing in college and Europe.

Another team for Aaron Snow

Left wing Aaron Snow (3rd round/90th overall in 2006) has found a new home in junior hockey. He's been traded to the Sarnia Sting of the Ontario Hockey League. Sarnia is Snow's fifth OHL team over the last two seasons.

What's up with Snow? Well, he started the season with the Windsor Spitfires, his hometown team. He lasted ten games, playing in a total of eight contests, before being traded to Niagara.

Here's what Windsor's coach, former NHL defenseman Bob Boughner, had to say after the trade. Perhaps it provides a window into what is going on with Snow.

"I'm sure there's disappointment from both sides," Boughner told the Windsor Star back in October. "I'm sure he would have liked more of an opportunity here, but by the same token there are expectations to get that opportunity.

"We're going to win as a team and this is not about individual statistics and how much you play in the end. It's about winning.

"Other guys were playing well and we couldn't fulfill his wish for ice time."

Snow lasted a little more than a month in Niagara before things turned sour, leading to him being taken off the roster and eventually traded to Sarnia. Snow said he is hoping to put the past behind him and move forward with the Sting

"Everything is good so far. I'm a little rusty, but that will come," Snow told the Sarnia Observer after this second game with the Sting. "I'm a hard-working guy who comes to play every night. I just want to put the past behind me as it was hard on my family. I just want to go forward in a positive direction."
