Stars' 2006 Draft Picks |
| Ivan
Vishnevski |
Position:
Defenseman |
Drafted:
1st round (27th overall) |
| The highly skilled
Vishnevskiy's season got sidetracked when he went out for a
considerable amount of time due to a knee injury, but he still
ended up registering 45 points (17 goals, 28 assists) and a
plus-18 rating in 45 games for Rouyn-Noranda of the Quebec Major
Junior Hockey Leage. He also had six assists in 17 playoff
games.
Vishnevskiy is under contract next for next
season after signing an entry-level deal with the Stars last
summer. Was ranked 2nd among Stars prospects and 74th overall in
The Hockey News' Future Watch 2008.

| Aaron Snow |
Position:
Left Wing |
Drafted: 3rd
round (90th overall) |
| Snow played for three
teams in the Ontario Hockey League during this past season,
making it a total of five teams over the last two years. His
final team, the Sarnia Sting, released him late in the season.
The Stars did not sign him by the June 1 deadline for a 2006
draft pick from major junior hockey, which allows another team
to draft him.

| Richard
Bachman |
Position:
Goaltender |
Drafted: 4th
round (120th overall) |
| Bachman had a
sensational freshman season at Colorado College, becoming just
the second player in the history of the Western Collegiate
Hockey Association to earn the league's Player of the Year and
Rookie of the Year in the same season. Goalie Curtis Joseph did
it in 1988-89. Bachman broke school records with a 1.85
goals-against average and .931 saves percentage while posting a
25-9-1 record. He also had four shutouts while leading Colorado
College to the Frozen Four.
Was ranked 9th among Stars prospects in The
Hockey News' Future Watch 2008.

| David
McIntyre |
Position:
Center |
Drafted: 5th
Round (138th overall) |
| In his sophomore
season at Colgate, McIntyre finished second on the team in goals
(15) and third in points (32) while playing 39 games. He was
also a plus-11 on the season. Won Inside College Hockey's Player
of the Week honors after scoring four goals in two wins as
Colgate upset top-seeded Clarkson in the ECAC quarterfinals.
McIntyre had the game-winner in each win.

| Max Warn |
Position:
Left Wing |
Drafted:
5th round (150th overall) |
| Warn bounced around
the various levels of Finnish hockey this past season. He played
27 games in the top league, registering no points in 27 games.
He had six points (three goals and three assists) in 14 games of
junior hockey. He also played for Finland at the World Juniors,
picking up one goal and one assist in six games.
Although the Stars were supposed to sign Warn
within two years under the new CBA, that requirement is on hold
because of the failure of the NHL and IIHF to reach a new
transfer agreement.
