Prospect Notes

Wednesday, October 17, 2007

Two Stars prospects were scheduled to play in the upcoming Canada/Russia Super Series, but it appears it is down to just one.

Forward Sergei Korostin, the Stars' 3rd round pick (64th overall) in this summer's NHL Entry Draft, will not be at the Russian training camp, which gets underway next Saturday, due to injury.

No word on what the injury is, but Russian coach Sergei Nemchinov said this week that Korostin would not attend the camp, which will feature a couple of tune-up games.

Defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy, Dallas' first round pick (27th overall) in 2006, is also on the Russian roster.

Under-20 players from Russia and Canada are playing an eight-game series. The first four games will be played in Russia starting August 27. The series shifts to Canada for the final four games starting on September 4.

USA camp update

Through three games for Finland at USA Hockey’s National Junior Evaluation Camp, Stars prospect Max Warn has one goal, no assists and six penalty minutes. He picked up four penalty minutes in Finland's 4-1 loss to Team USA Blue Friday night. The camp concludes on Saturday.
