Well, it appears DirecTV and Versus didn’t reach an agreement by the August 31 deadline. When the clock hit midnight on the East Coast, Versus disappeared on DirecTV.

We’ll see how long this drags on. The two sides have an entire month to work things out before it has any impact on the NHL. Stay tuned, but don’t tune into Versus on DirecTV because all you get is a graphic saying the channel is no longer available.

Here’s an update this morning from Multichannel News.

It is a shame that 2 company cant come 2 an agreement over a contract in a timely matter so that the customers are not affected!
my opinion is that directv should not resign versus !
AND should find us a better outdoor channel two watch.

This is a disgrace to the american public, both parties are making to much money as it is. direct should start their own channel and carry the same programming which all of us out door people enjoy so much. shame on both parties such greed by both parties

Hopefully the NHL will have enough of a revival to be able to move to larger network for national game coverage. Certainly the NHL is a step above WWE/F/whatever and rodeo, the other staples of Versus sports programming.

The English Premier League now has a weekly game on ESPN. You’d think the NHL could work something out.

Its terrible that directv dropped versus. We watch the bullriding all the time, finals are close, whats wrong with directv, you pay to see something and then they yank it off put goofy crab on its not right it just plain sucks!!
