Auld on re-entry waivers

The Stars have put Alex Auld on re-entry waivers. Teams will now have a chance to claim Auld for half his remaining salary, which is just below $250,000. The Stars would pay the other half for the rest of this season. We should know tomorrow if anyone has taken him. I think someone will, but we'll have to wait and see.

How does re-entry waivers get by the Olympic roster freeze?  does it not apply to such transactions?

roster moves are allowed once the teams start practicing again.
