Canada’s National Junior Team development camp opens today in Saskatoon and Scott Glennie, the Stars’ first round pick (8th overall) in this summer’s draft, is one of the 45 players on the camp roster. There are a lot of names on the roster you’ll recognize from this year’s draft and the Memorial Cup, if you watched.

Making the final roster for Canada’s WJC team is an accomplishment, so it’s a process worth watching to see how Glennie fares. This camp is just the first step. Early season performance will play a role as well.

The camp, which has its first practice tonight, runs through the weekend and features two intersquad games, which will be played on Saturday and Sunday. Those games are scheduled to carried on the web at FASTHockey.com. They are pay per view and you need to register.

Here’s the link for Hockey Canada’s 2010 World Junior Championship site, which has the camp schedule, roster and other information.
