Lundqvist says he won’t return
I don’t think this is a big surprise, but Joel Lundqvist told a Swedish television outlet today that the Stars have told him they won’t be offering him a contract this summer. Lundqvist, who will an unrestricted free agent on July, said if he doesn’t get a contract with another NHL team, he could return to Sweden to play.
Lundqvist, who has played three seasons with the Stars, had a rough 2008-09 campaing due to the injuries and struggled when he was in the lineup. He ended up registering just six points in 43 games.
Here’s a link to an article in Swedish on Lundqvist, which details my brief description above. .
