Morrow’s line impressive in scrimmage
As expected, Brenden Morrow played on a line with Mike Richards and Jeff Carter at Canada’s Olympic camp scrimmage Thursday night, and that line was good. Very good, I thought. Morrow had the first good scoring chance of the game, basically right off the bat, the trio scored a goal - which Carter potted off a rebound - and those three were just all over of most of the night and created some good chances. I thought Carter was especially impressive.
The game ended in a 2-2 tie after three periods. There was a shootout after it and the Red team won that by a 6-2 score. Morrow was among the scorers for the Red, beating Steve Mason five-hole.
Stephane Robidas was paired with Dan Hamhuis most of the night. I thought he did OK out there from what I saw.
Some side notes. It was strange hearing fans in Calgary chanting “Lou, Lou...” anytime Roberto Luongo made a nice save, and he made a few.
Dany Heatley got booed a lot. One of the funnier moments came late in the game when the Red appeared to score a goal to take a 3-2 lead. Fans cheered. Then they apparently thought it was Heatley who had scored it (actually it was Joe Thornton who kicked the puck in the net) and booed. Then, when the goal was disallowed, they cheered. Heatley scored a nice goal in the shootout too. The guy can put the puck in the net.
They announced they would stream it late yesterday afternoon/evening.
The stream was pretty choppy most of the night. It wasn’t that great, but still you could catch most of what was going on.

Where did you watch this? Channel?
