Tuesday morning playoff race update

The Stars were only team in the race for those final playoff spots in action last night. With the big win over the Capitals, they moved to within five points of Nashville, four points of Detroit and three of Calgary. They also moved one point ahead of St. Louis and into 10th place.

They'll lose some ground tonight because Calgary plays at Detroit, so one of those teams will pick up points. So when they play Buffalo tomorrow night, they will be five or six points out of the final spot depending on the outcome of tonight's games. Other key games tonight are Nashville at Atlanta, Anaheim vs. Columbus and Minnesota vs. Florida.
