Unrestricted free agent Sergei Zubov told a Russia newspaper that he would consider returning home to Russia and playing in the KHL.

Zubov said he was in good health and working out. He told the Russian paper, Soviet Sport, that several teams were were interested and that so far there has been one offer that has detailed specific numbers. Those included games played and playoff round bonuses. As for possibly playing in the KHL Zubov had this to say.

“Of course I can imagine playing in the KHL, but I have not received any offers from there yet. The most important thing for me is to show that I can still play hockey and that I do it in a good team, then where I play itself does not matter if I am playing for the Stanley Cup or Gagarin Cup.”

The article, which is in Russian, is here.

As a Russian-born player who later became an American citizen, I wonder whether Zubov would have trouble getting all the necessary official approvals to play professional hockey in Russia?

I believe he has dual citizenship.
