Friday practice update

James Neal had his hearing with the NHL during practice today, but still no word on whether he’ll be suspended for the hit on Derek Dorsett last night.

Several players missing at practice today. Brad Richards, Jere Lehtinen, Trevor Daley and Brian Sutherby did not practice. RIchards, Lethinen and Daley have minor issues and are expected to play tomorrow against New Jersey.

Sutherby, who has been out with a groin injury, skated on his own.

Fabian Brunnstrom practiced, but still no contact. He was able to shoot the puck for the first time since the shoulder injury, so he said that is a step forward.

Warren Peters practiced with the team today. If Neal gets suspended then he’ll get put in the lineup.

Lines were scrambled around a lot today because of several players missing.

Marty Turco will start in goal tomorrow, according to Marc Crawford.
