Hull on player criticism of Avery
/Andrew's Dallas Stars Page
Brett Hull had some strong comments today about some of the anonymous player criticism of Sean Avery. Hull made these comments during an interview on Leafs Lunch AM640 in Toronto. Here is what Hull had to say on the issue:
“The team has struggled and it kind of irks me that players are trying to use Sean Avery as an excuse for their poor play. You put your foot in your skate and you pull that jersey over your head. One player does not make you play bad. You can have bad games, no question. You can individually struggle. When the whole group struggles and people try to pin it on one player, it’s kind of sad to me.
“If they ever came out and I found out who they are, I don’t know how to say it, but those are not people that I would want on my team, the people that use excuses for their poor play. Sean plays very hard for us, played through injuries, never missed a practice because of injury. The things we are dealing with right now are off-ice and not hockey related or game related. Those are the issues he needs to clean up in his life.”
