Monday practice update

The news out of practice today is that Karlis Skrastins has been placed on IR retroactive to December 3 with the finger laceration and that Ivan Vishnevskiy has been recalled from the Texas Stars. It looks like Vishnevskiy will play tomorrow against Anaheim. He was paired with Trevor Daley in today’s practice drills. Skrastins, who was on the ice for part of today’s practice, said his finger is getting better. He is traveling with the team and is eligible to come off IR on Thursday.

There was some line juggling too. James Neal was back on the top line with Brad Richards and Steve Ott was on a line with Mike Modano and Jere Lehtinen.

Marty Turco will start in goal tomorrow. Marc Crawford said he expected Alex Auld to get one start in the next five games, all of which are on the road.
