The Stars cut their roster to 25 active players Friday but in reality they trimmed it to 23, the NHL maximum. It was not so good news for defenseman Andrew Hutchinson, who is waiting to see if he clears waivers, but positive news for forwards Jamie Benn and Tom Wandell, who both have a chance of starting the season in the NHL.
