News & Notes: Gustavsson watch continues

Swedish goalie Jonas Gustavsson, who is on the Dallas Stars' wish list, still isn't ready to make a decision on where he'll sign.

Gustavsson met with Toronto GM Brian Burke in Sweden on Thursday, and Burke told TSN in Canada that Gustavsson still wasn't ready to make a decision.

Meanwhile, the Toronto Sun report that Gustavasson's Swedish-based agent, Par Larsson, said a final decision could still be a few more days away.

It's believed the Stars and the Maple Leafs are the two frontrunners to land Gustavsson, who became a highly sought after free agent by NHL teams after putting together an impressive 2008-09 season in the Swedish Elite League.

Interest in Zubov

The Stars have maintained they are interested in possibly bringing back defenseman Sergei Zubov, who hit the free agent market on Wednesday, and apparently they aren't the only ones with their eyes on the veteran blueliner.

There were reports Thursday that several teams had expressed an interest in Zubov.  One of those teams is said to be the St. Louis Blues, where former Stars GM Doug Armstrong is currently vice-president of player personnel.

Morrow, Robidas to attend Canada Olympic orientation camp

Stars forward Brenden Morrow and defenseman Stephane Robidas were among the 46 players invited to Canada’s 2010 Olympic men’s hockey orientation camp, which run from August 24-27 at the Pengrowth Saddledome in Calgary.

five goaltenders, 16 defensemen and 25 forwards are candidates for Canada's 23-man roster for the Olympics, which will be held in Vancouver next year.

Both Morrow and Robidas have international experience with Team Canada, but neither has played in the Olympics.
