About the Stars |
|
The Stars lost their third consecutive
game, falling 6-3 to the Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday
afternoon. The Stars have surrendered 17 goals in the
three losses.
"It's no secret that you're not going
to win much giving up 5 or 6 goals a game," said Stars
captain Brenden Morrow.
Kari Lehtonen, who was making his
first start in goal for the Stars and his first in the
NHL since last April, allowed six goals on 34 shots.
Marty Turco will start in goal for the Stars.
Injuries: F Brian
Sutherby (shoulder) and Tom Wandell (knee) are out. |

About the
Capitals |
|
The Capitals
extended their overall winning streak to three games and
their home winning streak to 13 games with a 2-0 win
over the New York Rangers Saturday. Jose Theodore
stopped 30 shots for his first shutout since March 17,
2009.
"I thought he was
by far our best player," Washington coach Bruce Boudreau
said. "Any time they were putting pressure on us,
Jose would get it, and he would stop it, and he would
not let a rebound go tonight. And that’s, I think, the
key to his game. He’s brimming with confidence. We hope
he can keep it."
The two goals scored
by the Capitals ended a streak of 23 consecutive games
where they had scored three goals or more.
Injuries: D Tyler
Sloan (flu) is questionable. D Milan Jurcina (sports
hernia surgery) is out. |
