About the Stars

The Stars beat the Los Angeles Kings 3-2 Saturday afternoon to wrap up their three-game homestand with a 2-0-1 record.

"I thought it was a hard-fought game. Both teams competed hard," said Stars coach Dave Tippett. "Five of six points in this homestand is a good start if we want to start climbing the standings. These were 2 critical points for us and I like the way we are playing going into [this] week's trip."

The Stars are 8-3-3 in their last 14 games and 12-6-3 in their last 21.

Injuries: RW Fabian Brunnstrom (ankle), RW Landon Wilson (ribs), D Sergei Zubov (hip) and LW Brenden Morrow (knee) are out.

About the Lightning

The Lightning are coming off a 4-3 loss to Florida Saturday. Tampa Bay built a 3-1 lead in the first period, but Florida rallied with three goals in the second.

"We started the game great," Tampa's Vaclav Prospal said. "We didn't give them anything in the first period. We built a 3-1 lead and let it slip in the second, and that can't happen to us. That was a four-point game."

Vincent Lecavalier scored his third goal in four games for Tampa Bay, which is 4-3-0 in its last seven games and 7-5-1 in its last 13.

Injuries:  D Marek Malik (lower body), D Paul Ranger (upper body), D Matt Smaby (lower body) and F Paul Szczechura (lower body) are day to day. D Jamie Heward (concussion) and LW Gary Roberts (elbow/groin) are out.
