Stars goalie Alex Auld cleared waivers Thursday and was assigned to the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League.

Next up for Auld could be re-entry waivers. A team would then have the chance to take him for half his remaining salary, which is just under $250,000 at this point in the season. The Stars would pay the other half.

If no team claims Auld on re-entry waivers then he would likely stay with the Texas Stars.

Stars TV schedule note

The television coverage for Stars-Colorado game on March 14 has gone from possibly being NBC's game of the week to TBA.

The March 14 game was an option for the game of the week under NBC's "Flex Scheduling," but the network has opted to show the Washington Capitals at Chicago Blackhawks on national TV that afternoon.

So, the Stars will now have to look for a local carrier to broadcast the game. Stars management said it is looking at all options for possible local television for this Stars game and will release information when it is available.

Stars hit the ice Friday

The Stars will hold their first practice out of the Olympic break on Friday. They'll hit the ice in Frisco at 1:30 pm, a half hour earlier than originally planned. They'll practice Saturday, Sunday and Monday as well in preparation for their first game after the break, which is Tuesday against the Los Angeles Kings at American Airlines Center.
