Stars goalie Alex Auld stopped 24 of 26 shots Friday night to make it two straight wins and six straight at American Airlines Center.

"He played very well in the third period tonight," said Stars coach Marc Crawford. "You need your goaltender to make a couple of saves because you are always going to give up a couple of chances, and he was very good tonight."

So, does Crawford continue to go with Auld?

"I will most likely stay with him, yeah," Crawford said. "He's playing well right now and we're going to keep riding him and keep giving him an opportunity."

Crawford said he choose between Auld and Marty Turco based on who is playing well and who gives the Stars the best chance to win the game.

"What we've done in the last seven games is gone with the guy that has played well," Crawford said. "I am not going to say I am going to go with the goalie only if he wins. If I think the goaltender is playing well and gives us the best opportunity to win, that's who I am going to use. ... Alex has played two good games. Sooner or later Marty will get an opportunity. We've still got a lot of hockey left. It's not easy for anybody, but they both have to be ready to play and play their best so we get a good opportunity to get two points."

Lehtinen sits for a sixth straight game

Stars forward Jere Lehtinen, who had missed the last five games with a neck injury, was said to be ready for Friday's game against Colorado.

He took part in the morning skate and the Stars put out a release saying he had been activated from injured reserve Friday afternoon.

But the paperwork didn't make it to the NHL offices in time, making Lehtinen ineligible to play Friday night.

He should be good to go Sunday against the Phoenix Coyotes.
