About the Stars |
|
The Stars (29-24-12) rallied from a 2-0
deficit for a 4-3 shootout win in Washington Monday that
snapped a three-game losing streak. Stars goalie Marty
Turco stopped a career-high 49 shots in regulation and
overtime and another four of five in the shootout.
"It's huge. We needed
a great goaltending performance tonight and Marty was
absolutely terrific," said Stars coach Marc Crawford.
"We loved the fact that he fought and fought and fought
and got a payoff, even in the shootout."
Turco will start again Wednesday night.
Injuries: D Nicklas Grossman (back) is questionable. F Brian
Sutherby (shoulder) and Tom Wandell (knee) are out.

The Sabres are coming off a 2-1
overtime win over the New York Rangers at Madison Square
Garden on Sunday. It was the Sabres' second straight
win, both in OT. It also snapped an eight-game winless
streak (0-6-2) on the road.
"Every game is tight. It was good to
see us battle hard in both those contests," Sabres coach
Lindy Ruff said of the two overtime wins. "I thought our
club turned the corner." The
Sabres are 3-6-2 in their last 11 games. Injuries:
RW Drew Stafford (groin) and C Paul Gaustad (upper body)
are out. |
