Stars update: Turco in, Sutherby out, Peters up
Marty Turco will back in net when the Dallas Stars take on the Minnesota Wild to wrap up their four-game homestand Tuesday night.
Alex Auld got the first three starts of the homestand. Crawford said the decision on who goes in goal is being made on a game-by-game basis, and this time around the decision is to go with Turco.
"We said last week that Marty needed some time off and he got it," Stars coach Marc Crawford said Monday. "We're going on a day-by-day basis right now. He's getting an opportunity and hopefully he'll play well enough to help us win the game tomorrow. Then we'll move forward."
This will be Turco's first start since the Stars' 4-0 loss in Denver on January 24. Turco's last five starts have come on the road and this will be his first start at home since January 8, when he made 19 saves in a 4-3 win over the New York Islanders.
Sutherby out for Tuesday with shoulder injury
Stars forward Brian Sutherby will not play Tuesday due to a shoulder injury suffered in the second period of Sunday's game against Phoenix.
"We don't exactly know the extent of his injury," Stars coach Marc Crawford said on Monday. "We'll know the extent of it probably tomorrow, but he won't be able to play tomorrow."
For now, Sutherby is officially listed as day-to-day.
Peters recalled
With Brian Sutherby out for Tuesday, the Stars have recalled center Warren Peters from the Texas Stars of the AHL.
Peters was sent back to the AHL over the weekend after playing four games with Dallas while Jere Lehtinen was on injured reserve.
Peters has played a total of eight games with Dallas this season, registering one goal and a plus-one rating.
