The Texas Stars went 2-0-2 over the past week, pushing
their points streak to 11 games and taking over the AHL lead in points. Here's our weekly update on the Texas
Stars of the American Hockey League, the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL
and other minor league notes.

The Stars are 8-0-2-1 over their last 11 games now and are now
12-2-2 on the season. Their 28 points are tops in the AHL and they rank second
in the league with a .778 points percentage.

Both wins during the week - 4-0 at Rockford on Friday and 2-0
at Sunday - came with Brent Krahn in goal.
Krahn, who has won eight games in a row and is 8-1-0 on the
season, stopped 32 shots in the win over Rockford and 44 in the victory at San
Antonio.
Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to Chicago at Cedar Park Center
marked the first sellout in team history with 6,863 fans on hand.
Among the scorers for the Stars during the week were Warren
Peters (four goals, one assist), Aaron Gagnon (four assists), Sergei Korostin
(two goals), Colton Sceviour (one goal, one assist) and Ivan Vishnevskiy (one
goal, one assist).
The Stars play four games over the next week, all of them on
the road.

ECHL Update |
|
The Idaho Steelheads won all three of their games last
week to improve to 11-2-1 on the season. The Steelheads lead the league
in points in 23 and rank second in points percentage at .821.
Richard Bachman won both his starts last week,
stopping 46 of 48 shots. In a 2-1 over Stockton, he made 26 saves in
regulation and overtime, and then stopped three of four in the shootout.
Bachman is now 6-2-1 with a 2.28 goals against average
and .906 save percentage. He is tied for first in the ECHL in wins and
ranks third in goals against average.
Defenseman Trevor Ludwig had one goal, three assists
and a plus-five rating in three games last week. He was called up to the
Texas Stars on Monday. |
