The Texas Stars fell 3-1 in Chicago Sunday, ending the
past week with a 2-2-0 record. Here's our weekly update on the Texas
Stars of the American Hockey League, the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL
and other minor league notes.

Sunday's loss in Chicago, which ended Brent Krahn's winning
streak at ten games, wrapped up a tough bit of scheduling that saw the Stars
play seven of their last eight games on the road and twice play four games in
five days stretches.

They began the last week with a 3-1 win at Rockford Wednesday
behind a 31-save effort from Krahn and two goals from Warren Peters, who was
called up the next day by the Dallas Stars.
On Friday the Stars fell 4-1 at Grand Rapids ending the Stars'
12-game points streak.
Saturday Krahn stopped 41 shots and the Stars got two goals
Maxime Fortunus, including the game-winner in overtime, in a 4-3 win at
Rockford.
Sunday In Chicago they took the early lead on a goal from
Francis Wathier, but appeared to run out of steam as Chicago got two pucks by
Krahn and then scored an empty net goal late to win 3-1.
Despite the loss, the Stars are still tops in the league in
points with a 14-4-2-2 record and rank second in points percentage at .727.
The Stars have a lighter schedule this coming week, playing
two home games against the Milwaukee Admirals.

ECHL Update |
|
The Idaho Steelheads won two of three over the past week
to improve to 13-3-1 on the season. The Steelheads lead the ECHL in
points (27) and rank second in points percentage (.794).
G Richard Bachman won both his starts over the past week,
including a 22-save shutout over Victoria. It was Bachman's first
professional shutout.
Bachman is now 8-2-1 on the season with a 2.11 goals
against average and a .911 save percentage. He leads the ECHL in wins,
is third in goals against average and is tied for seventh in save
percentage. |

The Allen Americans won all three of their games over the
past week, improving to 10-3-1 on the season. The Americans are second
in the Southern Conference with 21 points and rank third in the CHL
overall in both points and points percentage. |
