As a freshman at Colgate in 2008-09 registered 17 goals and 14 assists in 37 games. He ranked second on the team in both goals and points. ... In 2007-08 finished second on Penticton (BCHL) with 67 points (32 goals, 35 assists) in 60 games. Led his team in playoff points with 22 (11 goals, 11 assists) in 15 games as Penticton won the BCHL Fred Page Cup. He had one goal and two assists in five Doyle Cup games. ... In 2006-07 played prep hockey for Gunnery in Connecticut in 2006-07. He had 25 goals and 38 assists in 30 games. Was named the team MVP. Was runner-up for USHR East Prep Player of the Year.
