ESPN's
Al Morganti is right. There is a revolt brewing in Dallas. But it
has nothing to do with the Stars and coach Ken Hitchcock. It has
everything to do with Andrew's younger brother Nick.
We discovered Nick's new found insolence this week when he
uttered two words that drive parents nuts --"why not?"
That is Nick's new standard response anytime
he's told he can't do something or to stop doing something. Now,
not only does he ignore what you just told him, but he wants an
explanation as well.
Even after you explain it to him, he responds with another
"why not," as if he is really saying "and your
point is."
Nick wrapped up the pre-season with a strong performance. He
picked up a goal, an assist and no penalty minutes.
He scored his only goal of the pre-season when mastered a new
physical skill. While getting his diaper changed Nick saw a
plastic clothes hanger near his feet. Since he couldn't reach it
with his hands he used his feet to pick it up and transfer to his
hands.
He got the assist when he made it all the way through Mass
without having to be taken out for unruly behavior. This is a
rarity with Nick these days. He's even learned to whisper in
church.
Nick also celebrated his third birthday on Thursday. He got a lot
of stuff relating to Blue's Clues, his favorite TV show. He got a
new Blue's Clues videotape, a talking Blue and a Blue's Clues
mailbox. He also got The Tigger Movie, a Magna Doodle and some
clothes. It was a pretty good haul for Nick.
Nothing much new on the Andrew front. He's been giving marching
orders to get his grades up. His first report card wasn't up to
our or his expectations.
Mary Katherine got straight A's on her first ever report card.
She also continues her cheerleading duties. Her team, the Hawks,
ran their record to 4-1 with a 25-0 rout of the Jaguars.
