Nick's life can resemble that of the Stars

I'm not tired!A lot of times the life of Andrew's younger brother Nick resembles life around the Dallas Stars these days. There are debates over the fatigue issue and there are verbal sparring matches between Nick and team management.
Let's start with the fatigue issue. Here, Nick follows Ken Hitchcock's theory and what Ed Belfour practices on this issue.
Nick never admits publicly to being tired. He may be rubbing his eyes and his eyelids may be getting heavy, but, like Eddie, when you ask him if he is tired Nick will respond by saying, "Nope."
In other words, fatigue is never an issue with Nick. He doesn't need a nap or to go to sleep because Nick never admits to being tired. He may see it as admitting to a weakness.
Nick also isn't afraid to get in verbal sparring matches with team management. The latest incident concerned a banana. Some background here. Nick likes to ask for a banana. But he doesn't eat it. He just likes to run around the house with a peeled banana.
The other day Mommy, considered management around the house, caught Nick as he got ready to put the banana in the trash. Mommy took the banana away and took a bite.
Nick was furious with Mommy. He immediately demanded Mommy return the bite she just took. Mommy said no. Nick responded with, "You promised."
"No I didn't, " said Mommy.
"You promised," Nick said.
Chuck Carlton of the Dallas Morning News would describe this the same way he described the latest flare up between Hitchcock and Belfour -- it was a he-said, he- said kind of thing. Of course in the case of Nick and Mommy it was a he-said, she-said issue.
Nick had a pretty good week, picking up a pair of goals and no penalty minutes. He got his first goal for showing some ingenuity. When playing a video game the picture went black. Nick immediately went to the TV and checked the video connection and got the picture back.
Goal number two was awarded when he came pretty darn close to pronouncing our last name correctly. Now this is one of those Polish names that can throw adults for a loop. But Nick did a fine job thanks to some tutoring by older sister Mary Katherine.
Speaking of Mary Katherine, she returned to her basketball team after missing two weeks due to a burned hand. She played well, getting a steal, a rebound and actually getting a shot off. Her team, the Hornets, pulled out a tie when one of Mary Katherine's teammates went the length of the court and sunk a basket at the buzzer. It was pretty good stuff.
Not much new with Andrew. We have established a new system for him doing homework and so far it is paying off. He is getting A's in all of his classes instead of the B's he's been pulling for most of the year.
