Like Hitch, Nick doesn't forget

I don't forgetLike Dallas Stars coach Ken Hitchcock, Andrew's younger brother Nick doesn't forget about stuff. He used to forget. But not these days.
Hitch said he won't forget about how the Kings were laughing at the end of their 8-0 rout over the Stars last week.
"I'm never going to forget what they did there as a coach. Never. I want to go on record with that, " Hitch told the Dallas Morning News.
Hitch won't forget so he can get even. Nick doesn't forget for the sake of revenge. He doesn't forget so he can get his way.
It used to be when Nick would ask to do something you could tell him "later" and get away with it. He might whine a little, but it was a dead issue after while. Not any more. Now, Nick doesn't forget.
For example, the other morning Nick wanted to go outside to shoot some baskets. Dad told him it was too cold and we would have to wait for the sun to come out and warm things up.
A couple hours later Nick informed Dad that "the sun is out now. It warm outside. I go play basketball." Dad couldn't argue with him on this one. Nick got his wish.
Another example is when Nick wanted some CatDog crackers. Dad said he would buy them when he did the grocery shopping. When Dad returned from the grocery store Nick was waiting for him at the door asking, "You get my CatDog crackers?" Fortunately for Dad, he didn't forget to buy them.
Nick picked up his 16th goal of the season for mastering a new language concept. Nick is getting a grasp on the difference between singular and plural now. For example, insteading of saying "we is" Nick now knows to say "we are."
Nick picked up only one minor penalty this week. It was two minutes for splashing after spilling a bunch of water on the kitchen floor. To his credit, he did try to clean it up, but quickly found that a broom wasn't the proper tool for this job.
Mary Katherine's basketball team, the Hornets, lost their latest game 16-0. This was about as ugly as the Stars 8-0 loss to the Kings. Mary Katherine had a couple of rebounds and got off a shot. They play their final game of the season next week.
Nothing to report on Andrew other than the fact that he passed on a chance to attend a class that teaches proper manners. Dad did not disagree with his decision.
