Nick doesn't like to be punished either

Like San Jose's Owen Nolan, Andrew's younger brother doesn't like to be punished. Nolan wasn't happy that he was suspended 11 games for hitting the Stars Grant Marshall in the head.

"I just think it's unfair,'' Nolan told the Associated Press about the suspension. "I always knew I was going to get a suspension, but 11 games I think was too much.''

Nick wasn't happy the other day when he was given a game misconduct for verbally abusing his parents. Nick was upset that Dad had opened the garage door.

"You never do that again," Nick yelled at Dad.

Mommy then told Nick not to talk that way to Dad.

Nick wasn't happy about the lecture from Mommy.

"You never do that again," Nick yelled at Mommy.

Mommy then told Nick not to talk that way to her either.

"You never do that again," Nick shouted again.

Nick was scolded again by Mommy and received our equivalent of a game misconduct. This time Nick was silent and pouted for most of the drive to older sister Mary Katherine's basketball game. Nick finally broke his silence when Mary Katherine asked him if he was still said.

"Mommy say no-no," Nick responded.

Nick also picked up a boarding major for knocking over a tree while we had Mary Katherine at an appointment with the orthodontist. Fortunately, receptionist was looking the other way when Nick took down the seven-foot artifical tree. It reminded Dad of what it would look like if Rangers forward Theo Fleury took down 6-9 defenseman Zdeno Chura of the Islanders.

Nick did not pick up any points this week.

Mary Katherine's basketball team lost their season finale 23-3. It was their second straight blowout loss. Mary Katherine was honored by the coach for playing her best game ever. She was also given the sweatshirt that goes to the team's top rebounder for the game.

She said her improved play came because at halftime the coach told her and her teammates the team is called the Hornets so play like hornets. That's Mary Katherine did.

The playoffs are next.

Nothing new with Andrew. Later this month he gets to perform at the Morton H. Meyerson Symphony Center with his school band. It's ironic that about the time Andrew was born Dad was working on a documentary on the building of the Meyerson. Who would have thought Andrew would play there some day.
