Unlike Stars forward Brett Hull,
Andrew's younger brother Nick doesn't mind getting bounced
around.
Hull, as you probably know, has been griping
about getting bounced from line to line by Stars coach Ken
Hitchcock. He called it an "embarrassment" in an
interview with the Vancouver Province.
Nick doesn't find getting bounced around
embarrassing. He likes it. He likes it so much he actually
initiates his getting bounced around.
Nick doesn't bounce himself from line to line.
He likes to bounce from room to room. There is a method to his
madness. Like Hull, it's all about Nick.
In Mommy and Dad's room the TV is on public
television. In the living room it is on Nickelodeon.
Nick bounces from room to room catching his
favorite TV shows. He can watch "Clifford the Big Red
Dog" at 8:00 in Mommy and Dad's room. At 8:30 he bounces
between the two rooms to watch "Blues Clues" and
"Zaboomafoo." And so it goes until noon.
So, in Nick's world, bouncing around isn't all
that bad. It's fun and satisfies his television viewing pleasure.
Nick didn't score this week, but he did rack up
some big penalty minutes. He received an unsportsmanlike conduct
minor for yelling at the bagger at Kroger for putting his box of
Cocoa Puffs in a plastic bag. Nick didn't want it in the bag. He
wanted to hold it. He is particular about that kind of stuff.
It's sort of like Ed Belfour and his equipment.
Nick received a roughing major, a match penalty
for intent to injure and a game misconduct shortly before the
Stars-Ducks games on Friday.
Big sister Mary heard some cracking sounds. Upon
further investigation, she found Nick in the kitchen. The
refrigerator door was open and Nick was chucking eggs all over
the kitchen.
Upon surveying the carnage, Dad ordered Nick to
the timeout spot, assessed the penalties and then began cleaning
up the mess.
Nothing much new on Andrew and Mary Katherine.
They are on spring break this upcoming week. Mary Katherine plans
to sleep in and play. Andrew has no big plans. He's into this
online computer game.
