Nick can be a perfectionist too

I expect perfectionLike Stars coach Ken Hitchcock, Andrew's younger brother Nick can be quite the perfectionist. Sometimes it appears Hitch expects his players to perfect every game, every shift. When they don't, he complains.
Nick will gripe about a lack of perfection too. Nick usually does this when he asks for something. If it is not delivered just the way he wanted it you hear about it.
For example, Nick asked for a slice of cheese. Dad delivered, but while taking the plastic wrap off some of the cheese stuck to wrapping. So Nick decided it was damaged goods. It was not the perfect square of cheese has has come toe expect.
But like Hitch, Nick is learning that perfection can not be achieved at all times. Hitch knows his players are going to have off nights. Nick now knows that his piece of cheese may be deformed, but it still tastes the same.
Nick had a pretty good week picking up a goal, a pair of assists and no penalty minutes.
He got one of his helpers for helping older sister Mary Katherine and Granddaddy plant a tree in the backyard. Nick wasn't that big of a help. Then again he didn't mess up anything.
Nick also got an assist for being relatively well behaved when we took Mary Katherine to the eye doctor.
He got the goal while at the eye doctor's office. The doctor is apparently a big Stars fans and has a couple of framed pictures from the Stars Stanley Cup champion season. One is a shot from behind the net of Brett Hull's Cup-winning goal. The other is of Joe Nieuwendyk with the Conn Smythe Trophy.
Nick, upon seeing the pictures on the wall, said, "Hockey. Stars hockey."
He was immediately given a goal by Dad.
Speaking of the eye doctor, Mary Katherine needs glasses. She welcomed this news in a much different fashion than older brother Andrew did when he found out he needed glasses a few years back.
When Andrew learned he needed glasses he displayed the demeanor of Edmonton's Doug Weight when he went after Bryan Marchment earlier this season.
Mary Katherine's reaction was more along the lines of Sami Helenius when he scored his first goal of the season in that 4-1 loss to Chicago. If you recall, Sami was pretty excited. And so is Mary Katherine.
